A Small Prayer

In one of Nancy's early posts she wrote about the designing of a St. Gertrude the Great medal as a fund raising project for her children's school. Along with the medal, we also created a t-shirt design featuring a small prayer from St. Gertrude. One of the great things about creating images like this for my blog and for On This Day Designs is all I learn while doing research for my artwork. St Gertrude was a Benedictine nun and mystic who had many visions of Jesus including his Sacred Heart. She is considered one of the first proponents of the devotion to the Sacred Heart. This small prayer encapsulates the devotion, asking for our hearts to be conformed to Jesus' heart and His will.
