Ruthie, Old Age and Cleaning Robots!
In the car today...
Ruthie: Hey Mommy, let's buy a new house.
Me (Ruthie's mom): No honey, I really like our house. It just needs a good cleaning. I have so many kids that make messes and don't clean up!
Ruthie: Okay, what if the house was free and it came with a cleaning robot!
Me: A cleaning robot?! I'll take it!
Ruthie is the child of my "old age", number 11 and youngest of my children. Actually I have several of these "old age" babies. My last 3 were born to me over the age of 40 and as I look at their sweet faces I often thank God that he didn't think I was "too old" to have them.
Many women who are my age are nearing the end of their child rearing. Yet Mark and I are still immersed in homework, boo-boos, laundry, carpools, sports, bedtimes, laundry, curfews, teacher conferences, dishes, teenagers, laundry, laughter, joy....and more laundry! Despite all the work and time we must give, we love it...maybe not the laundry! Through it all, we have learned that Christ will never be out done in generosity. He promised in Luke 6:38...
~Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”
God has been true to His word and His gifts are overflowing into our laps.
Be open to God and give of yourself, then see what gifts he pours into your lap. Let's hope it's a cleaning robot!
Peace and joy,
Nancy
